Yes, after rain is a great time to shot wildlife images. The birds like this one come out for the insects and are quite often busy hunting down food, so they don't fly away as easily as they do other times. This one is just a simple classic pose. I am trying as much as I can to shoot birds in interesting poses. But, when the light is good and the detail works out nicely, I'll take a standard pose anyday too.

as i said in my previous comment of the following photo of yours, one could easily sense the after rain overall atmosphere. just like here, and which would be ideal for the images of your kind.
i am enthralled by the details of the black wings, and that i can see divided lines between feathers/ i do not have to mention the rest.

I know it is just a standard, classic pose, but I really liked the background colour. And I got some decent detail in the bird too. So, I thought it was worth a post.
