Yes I thought it was like a drawing of an eye dear Julie - but I have seen this on trees before - so I know what you mean - You did a great job with the effects - I like them and they add to this 'abstract' effect here - something different as well - Great job - hard to even believe it is a photograph :))

Hi dear Paul,
The pepsico headquarters has a wonderful sculpture garden on their property (it is huge, over 80 acres) and some amazing tress there. I knew where these white birch trees were and have noticed before some interesting patterns on their trunks so I just looked around them and found this :)

You're so kind Keith. I have been pretty unhappy with my work lately so I gave myself a break and went out a couple times this week and came up with some 'decent' shots. I am glad you like this one. I didn't do much to it but converted to black and white and worked on contrast a bit. That's all :)

Now I can sea the soul of the tree, normally I can't. What a heart ! How you did you do the research and finding this tree ? I would get lost in a forest and only show up after some days with a SDcard full of blurry and underexposed trunks.
