About There's no photoart in this; this is this morning's sunrise flipped upside down. The more I looked at it the more it looked like earth from space. What appears to be stars are in reality the lights of Washington DC. What do you all think?

I think this rocks!
I stared for some time, trying to figure it out.
'flipped' was not in my list.

well, yeah, it sure does. cheers to you for stepping outside the box and looking at things like an artist does. In drawing and painting that is what my instructors used to tell me to do. It is amazing how cool things look upside down.

cheers,
Nicole

Such a marvelous idea to flip this image! It certainly does look like the Earth from space. Beautiful dramatic colours. I love this.

I think you are right, Rob...it does look like a view of earth from space. I can just barely see the 'stars'.:)

What a sunrise - do like your presentation - and you sure put it in the right project. "Stars" do not show up on my monitor - it's just a very dark and curved horizon, so it really does appear to be a shot from space taken as the space ship passes over one of the oceans.
