Katie, thanks for the comment. About your question, i can say that PS has been employed in this case, but just to overcome logistic and budget limitations. To make the shot, eight umbrellas were needed as wella s eight persons throwing them in the air. But I had only one umbrella and myself throwing it in the air. So i simply reversed the problem: i threw it in the air eight times and then merged the images.
