Hello to my sweet Sheila.
I love this soft sepia toned portrait and there is no way that it is too orange. Your pretty little daughter has such beautiful eyes and you have captured an enchanting expression on her face. Excellent infomal portraiture sweetie.
I'm just back from our holiday and missed this when you posted it and I see that you are 'away' too. I hope everything is OK and that you are keeping well. I hope to 'see' you again soon Sheila. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray

Thanks Doyle. To tell you the truth, I can't remember off of the top of my head how I changed this. I went through a tutorial and followed the steps. I have notes on it. I'm going to try your way too and see if it's easier (or maybe even better!). I think that your way sounds A LOT easier than all of the steps I took to get this to B&W.
Thanks! :)Sheila

Sheila: This is absolutely beautiful . . . the image, the composition and the cute little model. I absolutely wouldn't change a thing!!! Excellent work grasshopper . . . I could look at it for hours! BTW . . . it's not too orange for my taste. There is an easy step by step method which I assume you found (but in case others are interested):
1. Open the image in Photoshop Elements.
2. If the image is in color, go to Enhance > Adjust Color > Remove Color and skip to step 4.
3. If the image is in grayscale go to Image > Mode > RGB Color.
4. Go to Enhance > Adjust Color > Color Variations.
5. Move the Adjust Color Intensity slider down one notch less than the middle. (personal taste)
6. Click on Decrease Blue once. (some do two of one and one of the other on steps 6 & 7)
7. Click on Increase Red once.
8. Click OK.
Of course, you can experiment with all kinds of tints this way but (YOOOO HOOOO!) - Don't touch this picture! It's award worthy and I can't imagine a change that would make it better.
Sincerest Regards, Doyle I <-~-~-

Hi Sheila, I just lvoe the angle and her expression, and great job on the eyes. You picked the perfect amount. As for the sepia, it is a little orange for my tastes. I like the browner sepias. I know a place online that you can download some actions for pretty cheap and install into Elements. With one click you can convert to great tones. If you want to check it out go to www.ezactions.com You're so fortunate to have these little guys to photograph! I'd never get anything done. ) Susie

She is a very pretty girl, i think she got it from her mom.. :) Shes got a very expressive eye, looks like she'll be a good photographer too. I like the sepia tones here, it looks like it was taken from long ago, it looks like a picture maybe of her grand mother when she was young. A dramatic portrait captured using sepia tones to give a different feel... nice one Sheila...

That's funny. We have a neighbor kid who moved here from Mississippi and he calls me Ms. Sheila. His mom and dad like to be called Ms. Lori and Mr. John. I kind of think it's cute! Thanks Gayle!
