Excellent location and an interesting presentation. Good use of light. Interesting marriage of a lonely tree and a giant waterfall. Congratulations for the award, well deserved.

Very impressive image, James. I'm familiar with Athabasca Falls. It's so enormous, it's hard to capture an image, but your image is splendid. Congrats on the Image of the Day award. -- Naomi

I absolutely love this composition. The tree shows just how big that waterfall really is! This is really a very powerful image, making this one the most beautiful shots I've seen, in my opinion. I usually don't rate photographs, but I give this one a 7++++!

Many compliments to this great shot! .... Mike

This is really awesome, James. I just got done going thru your portfolio and am very impressed. It's easy to see you really love waterfalls - and you do an excellent job of photographing them. Your wildlife is wonderful, too. Just don't have time to stop at each one and comment.

Thanks for your comments Jim. I'm not exactly "making a living" yet. I'm just getting started, so it's more like "slowing the rate of reduction of my net worth." I'm having a whole lot of fun though. :)

Whew! I love waterfalls and this is just an amazing picture.

I just read your bio. I like what you have done with your life. I suspect you make your living from your photography? Nice:-)

Beautiful shot, James! It would have been excellent anyway, but the lone tree silhouetted against the water makes it perfect.
Thanks for your comments!
Dave.

excellent image... you have a great eye and it is great seeing your vision.. good work on this one.. the lone tree makes the image and the falls almost becomes secondary, just a blurry backdrop for the tree to stand out against.. nicely seen and captured.

Actually, it would have been no trouble to move 25' to the right --- I was standing on a pedestrian bridge across the chasm. Moving would have completely changed the composition though. :)

his is an amazing image, but it would be better if you moved about 25' to your right ;-) Seriously, great job

This shot is extremely well done, James. You composed it very well with the tree and hillside silhouetted on the left. The motion of the water with the spray gives a feeling of nature's power.
