I disagree with Pinar, the diagonal pose and close crop works for me. So does the red scarf against the black background. All this, along with the natural skin detail and colour make this a great portrait.

reminds me Barbra Streisand song...when we think of the visual elements of the photo: colored eyes and the scarf it is no different than the famous Afgan girl's photo but it doesn't deliver the same/similar impact. Even though there is nothing wrong about the photo, I think there were more creative possibilities to be considered. may be a different crop, pose...etc.

A beautiful portrait.A like the crop, and the red "cloth" adds a sense of drama and compliments her lips. To be a little picky, there is a white piece of cotton? that i find a lttle distracting.Detail is good, and a like the DOF focus on her left eye...(she has beautiful eyes too)Well done! (to the fellas too)
