This is not a CC Image! How DARE you point out things wrong with my photos on a photo critiqing site! My mother and UF have one thing in common = "If you dont have anything good to say, dont say anything at all".
Well as far as the more fun for me then it is for you, I dont know anything that can put a smile on my face around here recently has to be fun..
As for the real critique, It is quite possible this shot Is not as sharp as others, The last 3 or so posts have not had much time put into them though they all come out of the camera pretty much the same, I use all neutral settings, so a slight about of levels, saturation and usm are always needed, so being unmotivated, tired and posting at 3am are all good excuses why I screwed up during Post processing LOL. I even left a big discolored box in my last CC image where I cropped some guts out of the shot and never cloned over the spot :(..
Actually my last post I worked on and thought I had it pretty darn good as a pano, only to find out when I uploaded it the pano was great but the normal version was wayyyyy over sharpened, so I re-uped 3 more times with different UF sharpening settings and no luck, I finally downsized it to 850pix and It looks ok but does not have the impact of the pano!
hey you should email me as I would really like to talk to you armani2@comcast.net.......
Take care D....

Well Marcus . . .

First, the shadow cast by the left leg and talons are seriously annoying me and distracting the unfettered observation I could otherwise enjoy of the right side leg. The angle of descent is even more annoying in that the 45 degree angle doesn't put this otherwise beautiful raptor into an ideal viewing position. Also, Ideally, 1/8 to 1/4 inch more spread in the feathers would make for a much more dynamic shot and you seem to have missed that chance completely.

Oh NEVER MIND! It's great (as always) but I thought I might just try to get an idea of what it must feel like to be able to critically evaluate any of your shots and that's not gonna happen unless I make stuff up . . . :?/ Actually, it was likely much more fun for me than for you . . . Heheheheee.

You know, it strikes me (honestly now) as just a tad softer than what I've seen from you on a more or less regular basis. Don't get me wrong . . . it's better than good . . . but not better than YOUR best . . . if you get my meaning. Probably due in large part to the speed and motion which HAD to be substantial considering the 1/3000 sec shutter speed. May have been due to the range too . . .

:) All my best my friend!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Hi Marcus,
I'm just in the process of setting up my nice new pc and I have to say that as good as your predators used to look before, I'm now seeing them even better with my 22" lcd screen.
Just like they say in the Vista commersial...Wow!!

Awesome shot Matt! Those talons are look like back scratchers... Would have been the money shot if he had 2 rodents on each talon :-)

I agree with the others Marcus, considering the speed of the dive, very nice indeed. I can see him spreading his claws getting ready for the catch. Congrats.

I like the way you got him coming and going, Marcus, but your diving shot is really spectacular! Amazing detail and focus, especially considering the speed he must have been going!
