I like the strong design here, Leo, and the compression in the lens. It makes a potent statement seeing the troups rapidly coming toward us without seeing their faces. They are even walking a line in the pavement.

I think you are in the correct project, because this is more about concept than the design of "Lines". Your perspective is brilliant.

Cheers, Leora

So strong, in army , their faces are secondary thing, they are just number of boots and rifles.

I know there are already many comments, but I wanted to add my own admiration for your image.

What makes it work so well for me is the repeating pattern of the marching soldiers, emphasized by the strong diagonal perspective - I can imagine that the column goes on forever.

But then I notice the patterns within patterns - the boots, the rifles, the fingers curled around the rifle stocks, the belts, the pockets on the trousers - each one is a repeating mini-element.

So instead of just giving your photo a quick glance, I find myself staring at it for several minutes - wonderful!

Best regards,
SteveR

Excelente imagen, Leo, con una importante carga de ironía pacifista. Lo militar reducido a lo más pedestre: las botas.
Muy buena captura.
Un abrazo,
Salavador

I like this photo a lot. It feels very journalistic to me. I like the line and repetition created by the marching. I also like how you've composed the shot, cutting off their heads... it's like soldiers in the army who could be anyone's son or father. Keep up the good work.

p.s. definitely lines

The use of black and white, and the way you cropped the faces gives this a very timeless feeling. Could have been shot yesterday or during WWI. (Okay, so maybe someone else could tell from the style of uniform, but still.)

Not seeing the men's faces also makes it emotional. They could be any men, soldiers fighting for anyone. So many of them. We're all the same really. :)

Great shot. 7.

My vote for the project is "lines". Independence - contradiction of terms.

Excellent photo. Inspiring portfolio. Are you published?

I find your work on a par with Elliot Erwit/Eddie Adams - with a little Kertesz thrown in.

Regards, Bill

P.S. When an art director I used to work gave her highest praise, it was "clever". You sir, are very clever.

Oi Leo!

Definitely alternate perspective, the tones and the continued line of soldiers is stunning. It seems to be a line that goes to the infinite! A fantastic angle you selected. Good job!

The b&w tones are working really cool on this shot. It goes to my favorites!

Wishing you all the best,
Renato

Wow.. what a powerfull shot my friend. The pov and the position in which you captured these men give rise to the impression that one can hear their boots on the pavement.
In MHO, the project you choose is the good one ;).
Excellent..
