About This image (7701) was shot in a small town on the Washington coast on 19 August 2006.

No, this was not shot underwater. I shot through a glass float into the yard and along the wall where the float was hanging.

I did push the blue ever so slightly and bump the contrast (+20) and pull the brightness (-20). I also resized and shrunk the image for upload. No other PS work was done.

I be waitin' fer ye questions and comments, arrrr.

Thanks, Anson. Photography is a lot about seeing, and this is a fine example of that. Being able to guess as to what will come after the click.

I can see why this made BIP, James! I can smell and feel this picture, and my imagination scares the heck out of me looking at the shadows. A real work of art, and so creative. Most folks would walk right by a dirty glass flask. Congrats. Anson

Doyle - Thanks. I've seen others shoot these globes and I stumbed upon several at the house of this friend (a retired English teacher). I lept upon the opportunity to shoot using them.

It seems the float has absorbed the undersea light and you have captured it in your photo. That's magic. Congratualtiosn, James.

Ron - Thanks for taking a look. I was really surprised by how these images came out. I couldn't tell in camera, but after I loaded them onto my laptop it was a whole different world. I have attached an image of the wall where I found this glass float hanging in its net.

The globe is hanging in a net just a little left of center.

Ron Wilson Ron Wilson   {K:18362} 8/22/2006
My first thought was a dark rainforest, with vines hanging down. It has me thinking that is for sure. An excellent picture. Regards Ron.
