Thanks, Maria. That's pretty much what I was after. I often work to create single exposure shots which give the appearance of (digitially) manipulated shots.

Roger - Maybe two. I have no end of pleasure telling stories of camping on that green patch to an audience that readily eats it up. There is a small white bit near the center; that's a water drop just hitting the water.

Thanks, Roger. Like I said, they have these really great displays they put on and I shoot them regularly.

Not much attention being paid to these shots though; I suspect it's because the thumbnails appear so dark.

If you look at the crack in the rock face and use your imagination a bit it kinda of looks like a swan in a lake swimming with the ripples and disturbance of the water moving behind it, as of the effect of movement.
Great photograph James.

Peter - Thank you. Yes, I seem to recall having seen shots here set up as you describe which produced a similar result. Hmmm... then if I were to invert those shots they would resemble flames. Very interesting prospect.

hi there, nice to see you are still outside the square.

the one simple colour brings out the high key lighting very well

you could try coloured ink lighted by a white sheet of card behind the water with a diffused light of flash on it.

slow shutter speed has great patterns in the water,as well try stirring the water before the ink

cheers peter
