Hi Kelly! Are you harrassing the wildlife again? hahaha. Great shot of the duck. It's really keeping an eye on you. Cheers from the howling arctic. Gary

Very nice capture of the heron, Kelly, and I like the surroundings, adding to the environmental aspect of the shot. The duck in the background is a bonus, too!

Dear Ms. Duntley,
I read your question about ring-flashes & as I've used them quite a lot, I dare address you. I prefer to use them so that they shine through semi-transparent objects, such as flowers. This way I don't have to depend on sunlight to capture the flowers' glory. As I don't have t.t.l. (through the lens light metering, in case you're not familiar with the term) it took some trial & error to find the correct aperture & distance to use the gadget, but the results are very satisfying, at least for me.
I give you the link to one such photo:

I took this photo inside my home. It's a closeup of the enterior of a red hibiscus.
Of course you're cordially invited to read my bio & visit the rest of my portfolio.
Best regards,
Rafi Springmann

Love the colours too Kelly... :)

Like lots of snow domes, all with a different theme inside... depending on how you view the silvery white reflection with your shadow...:)

Extra nice visual...:)

Love everything you have here Kelly...:) The scene itself is colour, curves, angles, lines and beautiful...:)

The *ship* is reminiscent of The Empresses in China... Made from marble... :)

Lovely work...:)

Good closeup, Kelly, and the motion blur of the wings makes an interesting pattern! Well done following her and getting a close shot with that long lens!

Like the textures present in the image Kelly...the roughness and colors in the pylons...the smoothness of the sky and softness of color...the the excellant details of the egret's feathers...all make for a well composed and presented picture of a cold and windblown bird! Super! Regards--Bill Voizin
P.S. Thank you for thoughtful look at my latest...appreciate the feedback.

Very cool shot, Kelly. Great framing of the "ship", looks just like one coming in. Not only some great colors in this but some great shapes, too.

Your composition is excellent in this!!

Best wishes,

Very well done composition here, Kelly! There's a nice symmetry to the room and I like the way you've framed the ship in the window.
