This has a nice warm feeling of nastalgia to me. I could easily see this as a card with a nice saying on it. The dof works perfectly.

I just love how the shadows play into this , making you guess if it's a tree or peeling paint. Of course the bolt gives it away, but still ...
My kind of photo.

This is so trippy! Gotta love images that make you guess where the photog was located.
So, it wasen't from your hotel looking down. It was looking up, while you were waiting for me

Karen,
If I had been there I bet you anything my photo would of come out way more blurry than this one. I hate tripods cause they slow me down. I take as little supplies possible when I go out. When I find an ideal place to shoot I get excited and I don't slow down.
A friend of mine as been "yelling" at me to bring a tripod when I go out and only now I am starting to see his point. I come home and play in photo shop, but by the time I get done cropping and such there are few pixels left to make a decent print. My new mantra is going to be "In camera, MMMMmmmm (eyes closed), In camera, Mmmmmm......"

One of my favorites of yours Chels. The lines are easy on the eyes and the sticks add a point of interest that breaks up the patterns nicely.

Karen,
What drew me to this photo was it's delicate nature and warm colors working together.
I am however noticing a bit of blur to this.
So, you are hiking along, in low light and you don't have a tripod (often my case), what do you do? With my digital I set the ISO to 400 and the aperture to the lowest possible. As you have noticed with mine, this doesn't always work.
I was also thinking that your subject might benefit if you zoomed in on him so he won't get lost in his surroundings. Not an easy task while trying to remain stable and staying at least half dry. What a find. It must of been an exciting experiance. This city girl would love a crack at this.

What a cutie! What makes this photo is that all the colors work together. The subject's movement lines up nicely with the surrounding environment, making the composition easy to look at.

The toning is all pastel and nice and delicate...what a contrast with the big metal door and masonry wall. The ivy tendrils add a nice touch.

Cool, Alisa.

Sean _
I ment to comment on this when I first saw it. It's my favorite of yours and I'm glad to see that ribbon next to it. I can see why you are getting hired to do other shoots.
Congrats!

I am proud to have our photography mixed up with this one. Of course this needs more blur I've actually been stewing in jealousy that your vision of this turned out better than mine. You suck!!

See everyone.. it goes to show.. a little blur can go along way. Sharpness is over-rated.

Thanks all -
This was shot at Bombay Beach in the Salton Sea area.
Mickey,
What can I say woman? You rock with the PS skills and I like your versions much better. I think the one with partial color works for me the best.

I thought I would never see any of these One of my favorites from our shoot.
Seems to need a 1% tilt to the left but that could be an illusion. This is striking in color.

A photo that has emotional impact always catches my eye. The toning, subject and composition all add to this. I'm seeing a tilt. Have you tried roting this in PS to the right?

The antique dark winter look is in true Mickey style. At first it seems to be a bit right heavy, but then road leads you back to the other side Ugh.. I can't decide if I agree with the balance still. I'm thinking maybe fewer trees on the left might help improve this. That might just be nit picking though.

Eric -
Crop the left, crop the left. The balance is making this tilt. Or do you have one with more of the right?

I stopped myself once from taking a photo of a dead bird. I thought it was too much (too morbid) to put on film. I wish I had now. My mother has this huge window that birds crash into all the time. I will go back before she sells the house I grew up in and see if I could find one again.

I know abstracts are hard to comment on. I took Steve's advice and cropped it. I was hesitant to do it at first cause I thought without the crop it provided more movement. I do like this better. Hmmmm, guess I have to admit that Steve was right... damnit.
