Hey Dude :) I had to comment on this shot, Very nice as all the others but the Post processing is excellent here, no halos, no noise, nice detail in the dark and light areas, he blends in with the background perfectly. The best of the bunch IMO... Yes Marcus Stopped By!

Hi Ratul, I do know a few photographers using the 400D and either the 100-400L or the 400 5.6L, The 5.6 Is a bit sharper but you do lose the zoom feature, It also takes a 1.4X TC better than the 100-400. If I had to make a decision 70-200 Is a great lens but really loses IQ with a 2X attached and is short with the 1.4X, I really think I would go with the 100-400 as it is the most versitile, and has IS so you will be out shooting in lower light, the ability to zoom out on closer subjects, anything large that can fill say 33 percent of the frame will be very sharp with this lens, small birds and birds in flight you may notice a very slight sharpness difference between this and the 400 5.6, but nothing you cant sharpen up in photoshop. It is a tough decision, as the 400 5.6L is 500.00 cheaper and a bit sharper though 400mm only.. but I would not consider the 70-200 a option for nature..

Wow Todd, was this guy late for an appointment? really has the look of speed, you got him at the perfect moment, with the nice splash as he takes off, very nice timing indeed. I dont think I have a good takeoff commy shot in 6 years, I always seem to get the sharp shot around the 3 time there feet hit the water which leave a splash in front and in back,, excellent job.. Yamil Im sorry but I have to ask how you came to this conclusion? LOL. Im joking, your getting some quality shots in hmb, I remember when I could not drag you down there, when i go there in the afternoon I can still see your footprints from the morning :) Hey did you hear about that photographer that was walking along the cliff between the edge and the wooden fence and fell down like 40 feet, he broke a leg and both arms plus head truma.. That was late saturday afternoon...

wonderful perched and flight capture Larry, but what is all that pretty seascape, with great colors, love the clouds and the sun setting behind, great perspective. But I think all this is going to distract the viewer from the actual subjects the birds ;)

Hi Larry, It really dosent happen that often, typically waiting for a flight shot and they go down for food in front of you, which drops your shutter speed way too low, so you have to be quick on uping the iso or stopping down to wide open. I have thousands of unprocessed raptors in flight and maybe 50 at the most in flight with prey....

arijit, to be honest, the 40D has some promblems, If you shoot AI servo of small subjects such as I do, the center focus point jumps from your subject very easy, the metering system is very sensitive, it seems to go from under exposed to over with the slightest change of light, I know you shoot lots of landscapes and portraits, which the 400D can do just as good as the 40D, If you plan on doing more actions animals, sports, I would suggest to save some money and go with the 30D, I have spend many days and hours with the 40D and will soon be going back to the 30D for good, I just get more keepers with the 30.. I hope this helps. If you want a in depth review of my finding email me at support@armaniphotography.com .... I have lots of real world experience with this camera...
