I find shots like this very emotional, they make me start imaging scenarios. In this image, the hand appears slightly deformed, even alien, so my imagination wanders even further.

BW is not the usual choice for this type of photography, but with the differently textured surfaces and the tonal variation in the scene you've really made the image work. Wonderful bokeh too.

Definitely a man of the time and a little bit like a young Elton John. I too have photographs like this, but with longer hair and a full beard. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to put them on usefilm.

I like the tight crop and high resolution. I suggest a square crop from the right, you'd lose the ear but really focus in on the face.

The blown areas spoil the image a bit but the important part - her face - is intact and that makes the image work for me. I like the way you've included her hand and walking stick.
