Looks like we both shot the same place at Uluru.

You caught it with a bit more water. What was so colorful in the water in your shot?

I love the colours in this Pam (but obviously not the reason). Very dramatic. I thought this place looked very familiar - the attached was taken in Feb this year. I loved your beautiful South Island! Well apart from the torrential rain that came in with these clouds! But hey I'm Scottish - just like home! :-)

Asher, I am not sure. In the university area anything goes. There is an older local radio announcer with this name, but whether this is related to him or not who knows.... its a mystery!

Hi Pam,I like this VERY much, the way the dark trunks stand out against the misty background, nice feeling of recession, and the layering effect works well as well.
Have been to the area a couple of times myself these last couple of days, lovely spot.
Regards Micky.

Well done with the pano stitching! I know how much work and patience that can require. This is a really good one, no sign of stitches in the sky (the most difficult part) and worth every minute spent, I'm sure. Don't you wish we could trade vertical pixels for horizontal? Instead of 800 x 800, say 1,600 x 400? I love your NZ skies. We seldom have skies like that here in Japan, alas. What a beautiful country New Zealand is!

What a study in contrasts. The interaction of shapes in the ravine, the horizon and the clouds. The somber clouds, bright grass, the intricacies of the depression. Very arresting image. Nice tonality and color.
