Hi Don, thanks for the comments. No, they're not Charlois, they're called Belgium Blue. Although often white, some are grey blueish colored. I myself don't like them very much. They're purely bred for their extensive muscle (=meat) and the cows can't give birth in a natural way because there's no way the calves can come out by themselves. Every year the vet has to deliver the calves by performing a ceasarean. I like the 'oldfashioned' bony cows a lot better.

You could always decide to dine out. I remember a great snackbar in the Silverspring area (or was it Bethesda?), but that was about 35 years ago LOL
Damn Deer, just shoot it Del, one way or the other. But I think you've just found a Deer friend ha ha.

New webs aren't very interesting Del, too clean and too shiny. I never destroy the webs in the barn, because one day you take them away and the next day they're building new ones, so why bother.
Some of them have been sitting there for 10 to 15 years, don't even know if they're still occupied, some of them seem to be 'renewed'. There's one that is so beautiful, consists of two layers, very cloudy like, but I haven't been able to get it right, because the only way to photograph it is against the light of the window and everytime it comes out overexposed.

Hi Teunis, this is just a beautiful landscape shot. Coming saturday we celebrate our 20th anniversary of the sheepclub in Taarlo, near Assen. Groot festijn de hele dag, met veel demonstraties en veel stands en een kleine expositie van mijn foto's. Als je langs wil komen, mail me dan even.

Hi Don, how was your trip. Have to look for photos. This was just the remains of a spider's web, caught by the sun, but when I took it, a light breeze moved the thread and it came out this way.

I love both hats and isn't it a wonderful thought your father wore it for many years? It's a precious memory. We had an old (in age) friend coming in every week to help us rebuild this place. He always wore a velvet hat and one day he just forgot to take it home. Shortly after he got sick and died and I keep that hat as a memorial to a true and helpful friend.
