Wow, gorgeus shot! The golden lighting and coloring is just amazing! Such a beautiful moment... must have been amazing in person! Can't wait, I'll be there in like 6 months!! Anyway, nice shot, great colors, thanks for bringing this to us :)

Andrew,
I Like the swirl of the ocean and the silky smooth wash, The thing I have a hard time with is the blown out Lightning part of the shot and the inclusion of the pool on the lower right hand side of the shot. With the use of an 18-70mm, I would have moved a bit more to the Left and caught the image without the pool in it, or I would have included all of it.
An easy way to overcome the lightning Over exposure is to open your shot in raw twice. Once for the Foreground exposure and once for the BG exposure and then Sandwhich them together in Photoshop. I Could show you or build you a tutorial if you would like it to give you step by step instructions.
The Cloudscape you were able to catch is nothing short of AMAZING...I Love the clouds.
all in all the shot has a lot of qualities about it that merit good comments. just a few nit picks.
Hope this comment doesn't offend you in any way. It wasn't meant to be a slam, but more of Idea of what people may be thinking yet to affraid of telling the Photographer.
I would expect the Same from any one else on this site cause to me that is what we are here for to live share and learn.
