this portrait by far has some of the best skin tones that i have seen on this site in a while. You've achieved such a classical look we seem to find only in old movies and pinups....she sort of reminds me of the chiquita banana lady...only a much more polished one. this is awsome, i look forward to more of your work.-corrie

Good photo, I agree that the silhouette is slightly soft, but you were using ISO 200 film at night, which can be tough even at a fire. As also mentioned, try moving slightly left or roght to avoid the subject bullseye, also this would give you more detail of the burning car. Zooming in for a tighter crop would also achieve this

Wonderful scene. The sillouette is a bit soft though, maybe just in this reduced version, but it would help to reduce yourself and sharpen these before uploading. Also, though I think the elements work here, I can't help but wonder if it might have been improved by not centering the sillouette.

I really liked the mix of colours and the softness of the image. Your model must be very pleased with this picture. Nice framing and sense of mystery. If my efforts are half as good I will be very pleased.

Cheers!

Call me "Little Sir Echo" if you like, but all I can say is that I agree with all of the above comments and compliments. Seeing your work is what makes me, at least, work harder. Keep posting, Jagdeep! Great work.

Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man.

Thanks everyone for giving me a chance to share my thoughts, and experience with you.
Garry, I'm lucky to get that compliment from you. That's only going to make me work harder...!!!

A very powerful photo Jagdeep. We can only hope that the adults in the world will learn to "see" with a childs colorblind vision, wouldn't that be nice?

I agree 110% with your sentiments, feelings and hopes, Jagdeep. One of the good things about the Internet is that hopefully more and more people will see photographs such as yours, mine and those of many like-minded photographers - hopefully the coming generations will be more aware of the world around them, even if they cannot travel it.
And this picture, to me, is particularly poignant. Everybody of every nationality loves children. The thing is, children love everyone and do not see race, colour, creed or religion yet so many grow up with some form of hatred, but still love children? The look on this childs face says it all to me.
Keep shooting, and keep posting - we'll change the world yet!

flame is totally not needed.....the lighting on her and pose is really extremely good, kind of "Madonna-ish" (not the pop singer).....didnt need the framing effect either...its a very good job Jagdeep...the bells and whistles are not needed on something so nicely done.....
