This ia a very strong image. I remember the weeks my father spent in the hospital in a coma just before he passed. He was young only 52. That was 12 years ago and it seems like a lifetime has passed since I heard his laughter or seen his smile. When I look at this photo it seems like yesterday. Bringing so many feelings, sadness for the loss, anger for being powerless to do anything but also joy for the wonderful life he had and that I was lucky enough to be apart of it. There is a wonderful letter on my homepage, written by my sister about him.

Josh, I shot this on a 4x5 Camera. I was using chrome film and used a flatbet scanner. when I scanned it, I just cropped in to the edge and used the paint bucket tool in photoshop to make the background black. Its as easy as that.
Thank you fot the comment.

Amazing shot Ray. The cob webs are really interesting and I like how the outlet is upside down or maybe the picture is upside down. Regardless, I like it a lot. How did you get the edge of the negative into your scan? I really want to do that on some of my shots but I can't figure out how with my scanner. Could you reply and let me know so that I can try it out? Thanks...

Love it. Like the composition, with the net divide between light and darkness, and the texture of the wood and the spider web. Congrats

My compliments!
Very hard crop but very strong.
Nice effect and very clever desauration with exception of the lips.
Well done.

Absolutely moving. I wish there were a bit more light on your mom's face, and perhaps on your grandmother, both the overall scene is really gripping.
