Yes, this is a very good portrait. The lighting and balance of composition are excellent. It's intersting that the face, turned slightly from the camera, brings the emphasis so much more to the book.

Nice shot, Bobby! One possible critique for you...if you could use photoshop (or some other edit tool) and crop in tighter on the subject but leave some background off to the right I think you'd have a more dramatic picture. I'll try to work it myself and send you the results.
Let me know when you get back home. I'll come "rescue" you from the gulag!

I think this is a pretty good picture. My question becomes, "Who is the nomad? The people or the goats?" Of course, the answer is both but the formation-line grouping of the goats really makes you think of a nomadic procession.

Excellent! I might have dropped down a bit to get on their plane but otherwise, I think this is a great shot!
Yaka laka yaka laka, HA! I can just hear them jabbering away after an afternoon of chewing this stuff...what an experience! The region, not the herb!

Nice photo, Bobby. I just wish we had a hint of the child's face showing from around Mama's back. I know how hard it was to get these people to let you take a picture, much less pose for you.
The lighting is nearly perfect and I like the near sepia tone this has.
