Hey Linda,
Wonderful hearing from you! Yeah, taking pictures will always be a passion for me. The genre of Chevronné has been a favorite of mine since my early days of photography. I love the concept of man forming an object from nature and then nature putting it’s fingerprints all over it in the process of taking it back.

Hey Rocky, nice to see you're still taking pictures! I just happened to check in to see what is happening here on UF and saw your picture on the home page, the one of Yabo...some things are not a coincidence, me thinks. I see you're into a new style of photography which is interesting. I like old things and they do often make beautiful photographs...esp. old abandoned cars and rustic farm pieces and buildings. Nice job on this.....I like the colors and tones. The shallow dof works really good. Your lighting and exposure or point on.....Well composed with excellent details and textures....

Why is it that ONLY a current critique or a current photograph be the homepage feature? Especially, with the number of great comments and photos that have been archived here. With so few images or critiques being selected out of the THOUSANDS being posted in any given period, I would think there are still TONS of these to feature for recognition. Otherwise, why archive them?
Regardless of how old an image or critique may be, if it’s "really" good, it’s still good. In fact, you might even say it has "stood the test of time" or is "timeless." Not that I’m saying that THIS image is. Just curious about the restrictions of this policy and having this image taken down so quickly.

Thanks for looking at my portfolio, Ivona.
I was trying to create a certain balance between the diagonals within the shot (wooden arm and the tube). Both of these run out of the frame.
I just did this instinctually. No real plan here. I took quite a few shots of this still-life before I settled on this one. I also thought of making it a verticle image instead of horizontal.
