I was browsing through photos, and noticed the last name.
If you recall, I was one of Tomas' groomsmen; the one with the Nikon D80. Their wedding shots turned out great btw.

do you mind if I bounce some questions of you sometime?

nice DOF

Awww this is absolutely adorable! Nice work! I love the angle you took this at and the clarity and lighting! I like how you captured the softness of his coat - makes me want to reach out and pet him! Nice work :)

I see stuff like this & it makes me wonder whose it was last & where they are now, what their lives are like. Or maybe it is just a shopping cart.

Cool car & angle. I wish the car door wasn't open though. You should try this again but at evening time, maybe with something reflected on the side of the car.

I love places like this. Some of the best artwork is in places like this. But maybe it depends on what you like. I love city stuff.

I love this! So eerie! The strange thing is that there is a place in Knoxville that looks very similar to this. I stopped there late one night to get a quick picture but a car came up & so I left. It was on the bad side of town so I didn't stick around.

This is simply stunning! I very much like the colors, composition, the DOF as well as the main subject of the image. How lucky to have a humming bird posing for you.

Good action capture. For me, the colourisation doesn't work here. I would have made it all b&w. I would also use curves to boost the whites a little (looks a little grey on my monitor). Good action though.

Hello John
Thank you for your comment. I agree with you on the fact that it looks processed. I originally shot it on a white seamless but the white was covered in black scuff marks and it took a lot of processing in PS to bring up the levels over the black marks. The kid was never removed from the BG and what you are seeing is the original BG but with about 5 screen layers. I purposely shot the image to blurr out the kid a little as i was trying to sell the bucket of chicken but blown up to poster size i totally agree that it is a little uncomfortable to not focus oin the kid. The reason that the kid looks cut out is because of the gausian blurr applied to one of the layers to give it that "glamourous" look to him, and the blurr is leaking out to the BG.
Thanks for the criticism.
PS. im sorry about the bike shot. i dont like it much either
