Dear Samuel,
I thing this is the better of the two. the b/w robs a whith lily of its colour. (I hate it too if a lily is robbed of its pollen-stems, just because they tend to smudge the furnityre...) Like the contrast between extreme sharpness, and blur.

Wow. The colors are so beautiful, and are accentuated by the sharp and accurate texturing of the leaf itself. I don't know much about framing, but my eye would suggest that the black frame is even on all sides. Very minor, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I love the sky in this photo. If at all possible, I would have opted for a different part of the water where it isn't disrupted by the drift wood. The colors are what stand out in this photo, and nice job on those.

This is one of those images that should be viewed at a larger size. The thumbnail didn't look that interesting, but i like the colors and the contrast.
I wonder why the sides are unsharp. Did you do it on purpose to avoid distracting elements?
