An emotive shot all the same. Pity we can't see when the wave hits too, for an action shot to follow. ;-)

Great piece of work,Darren. I've forgotten how to do this technique, and it's such a powerful and popular one.
I've not come across a bride willing to Trash the Dress yet. Must be a reserved English thing. ;-)
But look forward to my first, as I'm sure it will make Grrrrrreat photography!

I am amazed how such a great piece of photoart can have so many views yet only two comments. Maybe they were just speechless to leave a comment. Certainly a great ad for skin cream, or to show beauty is only skin deep.

Nice composition, pity it's not a tad sharper, or maybe a dry brush effect in PS would look good on this?

Very interesting and thought-provoking artwork. Would be nice also to know your idea/thoughts behind it, as well as what the rest of us individuals think of it , and what it means to us.
It reminds me of my youth in Cornwall, UK. My firends and I loved the windy stormy days when we would go and Play "Chicken" on Penzance Prom', while watching the huge waves crash against the prom' wall below us and shoot 20 - 30ft above us, before we run for cover. Getting a shoes soaking wet in the process. Then retiring to our beds, with sodden shoes and socks by it's side.
Thank you.

Hi Laura,
Thankyou for your kind comments, always appreciated. ;-) This is part of the permanant "Gormley Statues" exhibition. On a beach near Liverpool. I was lucky enough to be taken there by some wedding guests of a friend of mine. Who's wedding I shot, the previous day in Knowsley, nr Liverpool. Was a very cold day, so could not keep my escorts waiting too long in the cold. But I'd love to return there one day, as it's a photographer's dream. I think there are around 120 or was it 200, statues in total, spread over a few miles along the beach. Some are partly buried in the sand and some are partly submerged in the sea, with the waves breaking over the top of them. I heard that when they were first installed, the Coastguard was called on numerous occasions. As people thought that they were real people drowning, or committing suicide. Google it for more info, it's wicked!

I remember this one! Winter Wonderland! Great composition, and lovely subject too. Did you do some post editing on this? As the only drawback is the over contrast, hence the little bit of burnout on the fur to the left. Otherwise, it's a wicked photo.
Ps. Thanks for YOUR comments too, good to hear from you.
