Hi Hilton, all the best for u guys. No, unfortunately it is not a freeby. I noticed as well that the photo placed here does not have the spectrum of B & W as it is appearing in the original tiff. sad.cheers and thanks for comments.

I have used NIK's Silver efex pro for post processing - the software affords one an excellent opportunity to convert images to B & W with very realistic looks similar to that once achieved with specific brands of photo paper. Thanks for the wishes for the year - good clicking for you all too.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your comments and fortime taken to visit. The name Mkhaya is derived from the Mkhaya tree (a member of the Acacia family). We were just so lucky as the hyenas gave me good time to compose and shoot a few photos.

Great shot Joggie with the highlights and dark background making for very difficult management. The highlights do seem almost burnt on theplumes but great nonetheless.

Thanx for stopping everyone. It stays one of the most gratifying experiences as a photographer - these kids have never seen anything close to a digital camera and image. She and her siblings were quite reserved in posing but everytime they saw the photo, this little one just cracked up with the most infectious of giggles... it was wonderful.

Thanks for the stopping by and the comment Ian. I placed as I shot it. I tried the rotations but a horizontal flip seems to work better than the rotations to either side. But the flip does not add enough to warrant it IMO. I shot 5700 photos and am now in the process of selecting the best... a nightmare....

An auto-gyro is a (normally) a small plane that uses a 'push' propeller to generate flight and a rotor acting as the wing through auto rotation. Take-off between 0 and 100 meters and landing between 0 and 15 meters depending on the wind direction. My favorite model is the MT, made in Germany, see photo attached. WE do annual expiditions to Namibia, flying about 45hrs total/ 8 hours/day at anything between 2 meters and 2500m. absolutely awesome.
