You've caught great expressions on their faces. The photo is a little fuzzy. maybe it could use more black.

Thanks for your comment, Carla. This is relatively close to the Pecos Falls area. We had a great winter last year so this area was very lush.

Beautiful capture of the landscape. I think you could do even more with the contrast/colors in post-production. Nice effect on the water though.

Very fascinating subject. The composition leads the eye upwards and his expression is powerful.

I think, as is, you did a great job depicting the texture of the rubber. To answer your question, I think a wider lens and smaller aperture will be your solution.

Very beautiful DoF. I love how you were able to retain the concave lines of the leaf.

Great effect on the water. The shutter/aperture are perfect to give the lighting an ethereal feel while still maintaining the rock detail. Very nice photo.

I like your intent with this photo. The landscape is very beautiful. IMHO, the flower in front of the camera is a little distracting because it is not focused on at all. It would be more effective if you chose a definite place to focus on. I would choose the mountain background and have the foreground lead up to it. Also, some contrast work could bring out the many different colors in here. Just some suggestions. Good job overall though.

Wow! This is an incredible landscape and you did it justice with your photo. Great DoF and sharpness. Excellent job.

The thumbnail does not do this picture justice! The focus is superb although, in accordance with the title of the photo, I may have opted to focus more on the burning cigarette. Great job overall.

This is one of those classic, perfect landscapes. IMHO, increasing the contrast in clouds could make it a more dramatic scene.

Into the favorites. Your ability to accomodate all the different colors, tones, and brightnesses is amazing. This photo is great on all fronts.

Wow, a very emotionally naked and powerful depiction of a desolate scene. The filter adds to this atmosphere perfectly.

This photo has a nice journalistic feel to it. The B&W is perfect as well as the grain. IMHO, I might suggest that you zoom out and place him on the left side with a little more negative space on the right side. To me, this would create more atmosphere, representing the ~50 people that were listening. Great job overall.

Wow. The colors are so beautiful, and are accentuated by the sharp and accurate texturing of the leaf itself. I don't know much about framing, but my eye would suggest that the black frame is even on all sides. Very minor, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I love the sky in this photo. If at all possible, I would have opted for a different part of the water where it isn't disrupted by the drift wood. The colors are what stand out in this photo, and nice job on those.

Great capture of the scene, Mel. The soft focus gives it a naked feel, accentuating the different emotions of the photo. Overall, very nice.

Nice perspective. It makes me feel like I'm laying amongst everything (as I'm sure you had to to take the shot). I don't know if you do any PS work, but I think the colors could use some saturation.

I think this is a beautifully well-rounded photo. The colors are as good as possible given the subject (dirt). I like the framing of the picture as the eye is drawn from one side to the other, somewhat like the water as it makes its path downward. Nicely done.

Fantastic colors and textures, Kamran. I like the framing of the shot as well, as it shows that you weren't just going for a simple macro shot of the subject.
