Thank you :) It was the colors that originally drew me in... all yellows, greens and browns. I don't know if it would hold the same charm to me if I switched it to black and white.

Oh I never use auto lol
At the park there I think I had it dropped down variably between 100-400 ISO [higher in the shaded areas like for the graffiti shots].
Also, the shots with the cactus and the bird I had the AEB set to 2/3 and the ones I posted are the -2/3 version.

I'm seeing grain no matter what I try, though, with exception to the shots I take when I'm at the club using the flash.

Higher resolution, yes :)
But there's still just as much digital noise as I got from my little Casio Exilim.. It's not like I can't clean it up in PS, but it's still annoying considering Canon boasted about the reduced noise in lower-light pictures. [All the noise in the b&w bird picture? I didn't add it, I just sharpened the picture a couple times so that it would stand out more..]

The line across her forehead under her hat looks like she had an encounter with Silar from Heroes

Very fun otherwise!

Thank you! Haha but probably not.. My creativity seems to come and go as it pleases.. I can't purposefully do things like this, they come to me when I'm least expecting it :)

Arizona wasn't completely my choice.. The husband's in the Air Force, though, so we move where they tell us to -or try to chose the lesser of the evils when they give us options ;)

lol sorry Paul :) I know you do the best you can. Like I said, it's still a great shot, I just wish the skin had your usual pop to it.

I have to agree with Julie.. It's probably a combination of the lighting and post-processing, but her skin looks flat..
Usually you have a knack for making your subjects pop.. Making the image look 3-D.. Like you're looking at them through a window instead of on a computer screen.. This is like a picture of a poster..

Don't get me totally wrong, the colors and pose and movement are great.. But I want to FEEL the wind, and it's hard to do that when her skin is so.. unexciting..?

I like the intensity of it, too! It was just kind of a disclaimer for anyone that felt the need to complain about the orange blow-outs ;)

This one is my favorite, too :) I've never seen intense orange-to-blue sunsets until I moved to Arizona..

The red filter just gives the other one a more classic "Desert Sunset" feel
