hey kevin. i see that this was uploaded ages ago. like you, i haven't taken (or at least) posted photos here for a long time. hope all is well. this pic is super different from your old stuff, but i like it. it's like you took it from across the street and underneath a car. cool. :)

what a delightful photograph! very refreshing take on the 'couple' portrait. their expressions are wonderful, very spontaneous and real. i agree about his face, it could be in better focus. one of the things i absolutely love about this photograph is the way the lines of his shirt and her arm intersects so it almost looks like she's tied him with a band. love love this pic!

hi ian, thanks for your comments. no sorry, i don't have any self-portraits. one day i will endeavour to put one up. then again, one day i will endeavour to actually do a self-portrait...

i add 'friends' when i see 'like' photographers, or just plain like the work that i see. take care.

this series reminds me of JMW Turner. is this what you were after? if so, you've done an admirable job. your portfolio is really diverse! i like it a lot. love the pic of (your?) baby. great shots of great expressions.

hey james. thanks for the comment. i agree with both of you regarding flipping it. funnily enough, i usually do stuff like that, but didn't entertain it in this shot. the white stuff? i don't know actually. the sun? there was a tree overhanging the lake, so maybe it's the 'in-between' spaces of the light and branches. i like your portfolio especially photon fishermin! good luck with getting home.

OMG! this is great! i tried doing the same thing years ago and it's very inspirational to find it done so well. makes me happy i have my camera again to do more. your portfolio looks good and i hope to delve more into it. thanks for your comment.

ahhhh, i forgot how good these reflections pieces are of yours! i can't figure out how you do them (and i donts wanna know!). they look magical like you were a faerie in the water taking a picture of a giant, gallavanting human. so beautiful. i hope these eventually made it to a gallery at some point.

ok, i like your stuff so much (still) that i've changed my background pic to yours (and it was mine before!). these are really good fern. as you might remember, i love these kinds of pic. would you want more contrast or prefer the colours to be muted?

hey art, thanks for the welcome. yes, i felt an asian influence which is why i called it haiu. yes, it definitely needs more work. i was just excited to get it out there. not sure what the 'clone' tool does. unfortunately, i have limited access to PS. thanks for the comment.

ok, i admit i like cats so i'm biased, but they're sooooo cute! (they're probably rascals when they're awake though - lol). very nice shot, great colouring and crop as well as sharpness. i like the way their white fur is like a ribbon halving the picture in 2 almost ying & yangish. nice!

thanks for your comment juan. great portfolio. i like the minimalist feel and angles that you take the pictures from. this picture reminds me of where i'm from. it's good to see beauty in what essentially is poison. good tension.

oh dear. this is definitely *blackmail* material. "you come in by 10:00pm young man, or i'm showing all your friends...". LOL!!

as for the pic, obviously this is a well-caught expression and action. good choice to do it in b&w. i like the DOF, and could be even sharper.

hey art. thanks very much for your comment.

first off, you're my 'friend' by me choosing you as a friend which enables me to see your stuff as you post it in my setup.

re: the pic. it's rust on a guard rail on the side of the highway. just amplified, saturated etc in PS.

wow, i'm really impressed by the series of dog pictures. you have a great model there! you've got an interesting perspective here, ie. you don't just take 'dog' pictures, like these aren't pictures soley about a dog, but he's 'placed' in the pictures. really great portfolio.

wow, that's a lot of cats! you've really captured that 'thing' that cats do when they get curious about something or are fascinated by what's out there. well done.

thank you. that's about the highest compliment one can get! and another T.O. person eh? i recognize a lot of the places in your pics. i think your work is inspired and very much how i see (or would like to capture) the world. cheers for the comments.

i couldn't have said it any better than russ. this is a tight image. there's lots that i like, but what really gets me is your eye, the way the hands are placed and the fabulous tone on the skin. gawd, i love your work.
