Thanks Salvatore! Just wanted to let you know that background was actualy white, the light is directional and doesn't show much of that white. On a big print you would see dark very blue background with 3 stripes.

Thanks Siddhardha! It's just a vase on top of the small table covered by white cloth used for background. I tryied to make background smooth to avoid unwanted shadows. 2 lights were used. one for the background and one for the vase. Background flash is about 1 stop lighter.

That is the left side of the monumet, the one that is closer to the Lincoln Memorial. That wall has right alignment

Pat, Thanks! In PS I only "cleaned" a little the glass. I wasn't able to find a bulb without scratches.

I soldered 2 wires to the back of the bulb and hang the bulb on it in front of black background.

Sam,

thanks! I tried to position that beam higher and lower, but it didn't look right to me, so i ended up with symmetrical composition

Rayn, thanks! I like it a lot. It fells like the old and trusty 10D only much better and quicker. I do not regret upgrading to it. Actually I glad i did it

Dave, thanks for the advice and good words.
Julien, actually I focused on the first girl but when they moved autofocus jumped to the second girl the moment I pushed the release. And I actually like it that way

Nabil,
Thanks for the comment. I wouldn't be very disappointed, actually I wouldn't be disappointed at all at that Canon comment. As it was a joke. You know whenever you show a good picture you usually get the comment like "Nice pic, you must have a good camera" so that is similar to that, just with some twist.

Joe, thank you for the advice. I use similar technique when it's possible. The somewhat similar result could be achieved by producing 2-3 tiffs from the RAW/NEF file with different exposure setting, -1V, 0V, +1V for example. But some would consider it cheating, I guess

That picture was taken handheld for 4 sec. I took it without any hope to have a picture just because I couldn't pass that view. The shake is evident but to my surprise is not as bad as I expected. The second try wasn't even close to that one tho
